Silver Sphere Trading-Buy-Back Policy

Silver-Sphere offers a buy-back policy on all bullion purchased from us. We do not buy old South African coins or Mandela coins or bullion that was purchased elsewhere. Our buy-back policy is aimed to make selling your bullion back to us as hassle- and stress-free as possible.

Selling back to us is VERY SIMPLE!

Send us an email outlining the (a) quantity, (b) type, and (c) quality of the bullion you wish to sell back to us. Please attach the original invoice(s) you received when you bought the bullion that you now wish to sell back. We will also require a copy of your ID and proof of address to onboard you as a supplier before we can proceed.

Receive an offer to purchase

Should Silver-Sphere agree to proceed with the transaction, we will email you an offer to purchase within 48 hours.

Please note:

The offer to purchase will include the price offered on the items(s) on the day based on the spot price and the exchange rate. Final pricing is worked out on the day that we receive the silver and/or gold in hand, the price of which will depend on the bullion spot price and exchange rate on that day. This means that the offer-to-purchase price will most likely be different from the actual price paid on the day the stock is received. The price offered is typically (although not exclusively) between 12% and 15% below the bulk pricing of that particular bullion on our website. Overall, we strive to strike a balance between offering sellers a fair price and also ensuring market continuity by selling that coin at a discounted rate. This way, the secondary market is stimulated, and both sellers and buyers benefit. Locally manufactured bars from private Mints and Refiners (which we do not stock) will be bought back at the spot price. Coins that have been handled and have fingerprint discolorations will fetch a lower price than the BU version of the same coin. If collection is required, the courier costs will be calculated, plus the additional insurance cover of 1% of the value of the items shipped.

ACCEPT THE OFFER AND SEND US THREE DOCUMENTS

Should you accept the buy-back offer, we require three documents once the goods arrive.

a personal invoice containing your details (name, surname, address, phone number, AND an invoice number),
a copy of your ID and proof of address
a filled out and signed VAT 264 declaration form.

Please include Silver-Sphere’s full company details that you will find on the original purchase invoice (let us know if you need an example). We will not make payment until these documents are in order.

PACK YOUR BULLION FOR COLLECTION OR DROP IT OFF AT OUR OFFICE

Collection:

Bullion can be couriered to Silver-Sphere. If you choose this option, our courier will collect the parcel within 48 hours. The courier costs are for your account and will be deducted from the principal amount in our buy-back offer.

Drop off:

Please liaise with us to set up a suitable collection date, time, and place in the Northcliff area.

Note:

Please ensure that bullion is packed carefully and securely so that it does not get damaged during transportation. Damaged bullion will not be accepted and will be sent back.

RECEIVE CONFIRMATION OF PAYMENT

Once the bullion is received by Silver-Sphere and inspected to verify that it is in the same condition as when it was purchased, we will provide you with the final amount we will pay, and we will make payment the next day via EFT directly into your account, provided the paperwork is complete.

Example of time-frame for a typical buy-back: Day 1: email. Day 2: Collection. Day 3-4: Delivery. Day 5: Payment.

Terms & Conditions

While Silver-Sphere does purchase silver bullion back from clients, we cannot offer a full guarantee of buy-back. Silver-Sphere reserves the right to not offer this service taking into account the level of our stock in hand. Silver-Sphere reserves the right to make payments in cash.

Silver-Sphere will not buy back damaged silver. Silver-Sphere pays less for coins that have fingerprints and discoloration due to handling without cotton gloves. Silver-Sphere prioritises buy-back offers of full tubes of coins over numerous types of loose coins.

Silver-Sphere prioritises buy-back of coins that are more popular and better sellers; i.e. Eagles, Maples, Britannias, Kangaroos, Krugerrands and bars.
